Creating Challenges

Challenges drive engagement at your event. Well-designed challenges encourage attendees to explore more booths, attend sessions, and interact with projects.

Creating a challenge

From the admin panel:

  1. Go to your event
  2. Open the Challenges tab
  3. Click Create Challenge
  4. Configure the challenge (see options below)
  5. Save and publish

Challenge configuration

Each challenge has:

  • Name — Short, descriptive title (e.g., “DeFi Explorer”)
  • Description — What the attendee needs to do
  • Type — The completion mechanism (see below)
  • Points — Reward value (typically 15–50 points)
  • Icon — Visual identifier shown in the challenge list

Challenge types

Stamp count

Attendee must collect a certain number of stamps. Configure:

  • Required count — How many stamps needed
  • Category filter (optional) — Only count stamps from a specific category

Example: “Collect 5 stamps from DeFi projects”

Specific stamp

Attendee must collect a stamp from a specific company. Configure:

  • Company — Which builder’s stamp is required

Example: “Visit the Stellar Development Foundation booth”

GitHub connection

Attendee must connect their GitHub account. No additional configuration needed.

Attendee must scan a specific QR code at a location or session. Configure:

  • QR code — Generate a unique check-in QR code

Tips for good challenges

  • Mix types — Combine stamp collection, specific visits, and social challenges
  • Gradual difficulty — Start with easy challenges (collect 3 stamps) and build up
  • Guide exploration — Use specific stamp challenges to drive traffic to smaller booths
  • Tie to rewards — Make sure completing challenges naturally leads to reward thresholds
  • Keep it achievable — Attendees should be able to complete most challenges within the event duration
