Challenges
Challenges are event-specific tasks that give you bonus points and guide your experience. They encourage you to explore more of the event and engage with different projects.
How challenges work
Each event has a set of challenges designed by the organizers. Challenges appear on your Challenges page when you’re participating in an event.
A challenge has:
- Name and description
- Point reward — bonus points for completing it
- Type — what you need to do (see below)
- Status — locked, in progress, or completed
Challenge types
Stamp collection
Collect a specific number of stamps to complete the challenge. For example: “Visit 5 DeFi booths” or “Collect 10 stamps from any company.”
Specific stamp
Visit a particular company’s booth to earn their stamp. For example: “Get the Stellar Development Foundation stamp.”
GitHub connection
Connect your GitHub account to your Passport profile. This verifies your developer identity and unlocks the challenge.
Social sharing
Share your Passport progress on social media (X/Twitter). The challenge completes when you post through the in-app share flow.
Check-in
Check in to a specific session, talk, or location at the event. Usually involves scanning a QR code at the venue.
Completing challenges
Most challenges complete automatically once you meet the requirements. You’ll see a notification and the points are added to your total immediately.
Some tips:
- Check the challenge list at the start of an event to plan your route
- Some challenges unlock others — completing early challenges may reveal bonus ones
- Challenge points stack with stamp points, so completing challenges is the fastest way to rank up
Event rewards
Challenges often tie into Rewards. Reaching certain point thresholds or completing specific challenge sets unlocks claimable rewards.
